A heavy-duty 43A single-channel (1CH) DC motor driver module designed for high-current automation, electric vehicles, and high-torque robotics in Arduino and industrial microcontroller projects. Formally designated as the HW-039 (commonly known as the IBT-2 layout), this robust module features two integrated Infineon BTS7960 half-bridge ICs forming a complete H-bridge with strong thermal performance. Unlike lightweight driver chips, it is engineered with a massive aluminum heatsink to handle heavy inductive loads while providing complete optoelectronic isolation between your sensitive control logic and the high-voltage motor supply. Delivering up to 43A peak current capacity and supporting fast PWM speed modulation, it offers reliable bidirectional speed control for large actuators, heavy machinery, and high-power mechanical platforms.
Pinout / Layout Connections
The module isolates its high-power paths and low-voltage control lines into two distinct connection blocks:
High-Power Terminals (4-Pin Green Screw Block / Solder Pads):
B+ / M+ (Power Input +): Connects to the positive (+) terminal of your external motor power battery (5.5V to 27V DC).
B- / M- (Power Input -): Connects to the negative (-) terminal of your external power battery.
M+ / OUT1 (Motor Terminal): Connects to the first lead wire of the DC motor.
M- / OUT2 (Motor Terminal): Connects to the second lead wire of the DC motor.
Control Logic Interface (8-Pin Male Breakaway Header):
VCC Pin: Logic supply voltage input (Connects to your microcontroller’s +5V line).
GND Pin: Common system ground reference.
R_EN / L_EN Pins: Right/Left half-bridge enable lines (Tie both to 5V to keep the driver permanently active).
RPWM Pin: Forward/Right direction speed input (Accepts a PWM signal to rotate forward).
LPWM Pin: Reverse/Left direction speed input (Accepts a PWM signal to rotate backward).
R_IS / L_IS Pins: Real-time forward/reverse over-current diagnostics flags (Typically left disconnected in basic setups).
