Product Overview
The LM2596 is a popular “Buck” converter that efficiently converts a high input voltage into a lower output voltage. Unlike traditional linear regulators (like the L7805), this switching regulator is highly efficient and generates much less heat. It is a must-have for any hobbyist’s toolkit for powering 5V projects from 12V batteries or 24V power supplies.
