A high-sensitivity 20mm piezoelectric ceramic disc sensor element, ideal for vibration detection, knock sensing, and acoustic monitoring in Arduino and microcontroller projects. This ultra-thin component operates on the piezoelectric effect, generating a small analog voltage spike when subjected to mechanical stress, impacts, or vibrations. Constructed with a solid brass substrate disk bonded to a specialized ceramic piezoelectric layer, it delivers rapid response times and highly repeatable data. Its low profile and lightweight structure allow it to be easily attached to surfaces like structural frames, drums, or security enclosures, providing a cost-effective, versatile solution for touch interfaces, shock alarms, and acoustic pickups.
Pinout / Layout Connections
The raw element features two concentric electrical contact zones for soldering connection wires:
Inner Ceramic Layer (Positive Node): Solder point for the analog signal lead wire routing to your analog-to-digital converter (ADC) or signal conditioner.
Outer Brass Ring (Ground Node): Solder point for the common system ground return line.
Note: It is highly recommended to use a parallel $1\ \text{M}\Omega$ resistor across these contacts when interfacing with high-impedance microcontroller pins to bleed off residual static charges.
