Product Description
An ultra-compact 16-bit analog-to-digital converter development board with a high-precision internal reference, ideal for analog sensor monitoring in Arduino and Raspberry Pi projects. This high-resolution CJMCU module breaks out the powerful ADS1115 chip, allowing developers to expand their microcontrollers with four ultra-precise single-ended or two differential analog input channels. It features an integrated programmable gain amplifier (PGA) that boosts weak analog signals up to sixteen times, making it exceptionally skilled at reading delicate millivolt-level inputs from strain gauges, thermocouples, and specialized industrial sensors. Communicating via a simple two-wire I2C interface, it provides a crucial upgrade for development boards like the ESP8266 that lack multiple or high-resolution native analog pins.
Pinout / Layout Connections
The development board features a compact row of pin terminals broken out for easy integration:
-
VDD Pin: Power supply pin, accepts DC +2.0V to +5.5V.
-
GND Pin: Common system ground reference.
-
SCL Pin: I2C Serial Clock line for data synchronization.
-
SDA Pin: I2C Serial Data line for transmitting digitizing measurements.
-
ADDR Pin: I2C Address select pin (connect to GND, VDD, SDA, or SCL to modify the bus address).
-
ALRT Pin: Alert/Ready output configured as an interrupt or comparator trigger.
-
A0, A1, A2, A3 Pins: The four independent high-precision 16-bit analog input channels.

Applications
-
High-Precision Instrumentation: Perfect for monitoring load cells, strain gauges, weight sensors, and industrial pressure transducers.
-
Battery Monitoring Systems: Excellent for tracking subtle voltage drops in multi-cell lithium batteries to calculate exact capacity profiles.
-
Multi-Channel Analog Expansion: Ideal for adding high-resolution analog inputs to the ESP8266, Raspberry Pi, or any microcontrollers with limited analog pins.
Compatibility
The CJMCU-ADS1115 operates over a wide voltage span and communicates via standard I2C buses, ensuring full compatibility with:
-
Arduino Board Series (Uno, Mega, Nano, Pro Micro) using standard ADS1115 libraries.
-
ESP32 and ESP8266 boards (Native support for 3.3V I2C logic lines).
-
Raspberry Pi and Raspberry Pi Pico (Ideal for adding analog sensing to boards with no native ADCs).
-
STM32 and standard 8-bit/32-bit MCUs.
