Product Description
The HX1838 (often featuring the high-performance VS1838B sensor) is a miniaturized infrared (IR) receiver module designed for wireless remote control applications. This module consists of a high-speed, high-sensitivity PIN photodiode and a specialized preamplifier IC integrated onto a single compact PCB. It is designed to receive and filter modulated IR signals at the industry-standard carrier frequency of 38 kHz, making it highly immune to ambient light interference from household lamps and sunlight.
Mounted on a tiny breakout board, this module includes an onboard status indicator LED that flashes briefly when an IR signal is detected, making debugging your remote codes incredibly straightforward. With its simple 3-pin interface, it connects directly to any microcontroller digital input pin, allowing you to easily add wireless remote control capabilities to your DIY home automation projects, smart appliances, or robotics.
⚠️ Receiver Placement Note: For optimal range and reliable signal decoding, ensure the metal-shielded dome of the sensor is pointing towards your IR remote’s line of sight. Avoid placing the receiver directly behind thick, non-IR-transparent plastics or near high-frequency fluorescent lighting, which can occasionally desensitize the sensor.
