Product Description
An active infrared obstacle avoidance sensor module with an adjustable detection range, ideal for distance monitoring and robotic tracking in Arduino and ESP32 projects. This compact module features an onboard infrared transmitter and receiver pair that emits a localized beam; when an obstacle interrupts this beam, the light reflects back into the receiver, pulling the digital output pin low. It includes an onboard multi-turn potentiometer trimmer that allows developers to fine-tune the detection sensitivity to perfectly match surrounding environmental light conditions. Engineered with a simple layout, it eliminates complex setup procedures, enabling students and engineers to rapidly deploy non-contact proximity detection on mobile platforms.
Pinout / Layout Connections
The module breaks out its tracking interface via a straightforward male header connection:
-
VCC Pin: Connects to the +3.3V to +5V DC positive power supply line.
-
GND Pin: Connects to the common ground (0V) reference.
-
OUT Pin: The digital output signal terminal. It outputs a HIGH logic level during clear paths and switches to a LOW logic level when an obstacle is detected.
